Sarlahi, Jan. 21: Acting President of Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala has said the country would be trapped in civil war if constituent assembly election could not be held on April 10.
Addressing the meet the press programme, held at Malangawa of Sarlahi today, Acting President Koirala urged all armed and unarmed groups that are engaged in conflict in Madhes to come for talks stating that the government would meet all their demands except demand for splitting the country.
He stated that their demands would be met by constituent assembly election.
Vice President of Nepali Congress, Prakashman Singh said he is confident that talks would be held within February 4, the deadline set by Terai Madhes Democratic Party led by Mahantha Thakur.
